ABSTRACT

My internship at Avyve has been a great opportunity and experience, giving me insight into a wide range of takeaways. This includes lessons from the COO, Chris Bell, on topics such as: sales, proper management, task managing, and the planning required to efficiently run a business. Beyond learning the functions of the business and the systems it works through, I have been able to work with multiple different departments by taking up their day to day work and observing their roles within the company. Examples of these different departments would include sales, accounting, warehouse, and even tech. Beyond helping in anyway and observing the different stand points of a business I have been able to take a look at a different, more corporate, side of the A/V business which I am interested in pursuing in the future.

One of my possibly greatest learning experiences was fostered through the sales department. This is due to the wide exposure to other customers, lessons on how to move forward a sale, and how to collaborate with others. I am now more comfortable in a professional environment and better understand the customs of formal meetings, I am as well more comfortable meeting others while also working to find a middle ground to sell a product. I am less shy and concerned over being too assertive, I have now been able to create a more accurate interpretation of a corporate sales environment which can at times be much more simple than I had assumed. Looking forward, I can thank my internship for helping foster my professionalism, practice writing fluent and professional emails, connect and create business contacts with others, and finally helped with my work ethic and task management. I am sure I will be able to take these lessons and my newly found confidence into the future to help me through not only my aspirations in the A/V business but for all across the board professionalism.
